Pizza Kaprao has become one of the most charming food stories in Ao Luek, and it all began with a Polish traveler named Arthur Tokarz. Arthur first came to Thailand searching for nature, peace, and inspiration—and he found all of it in Krabi. Surrounded by limestone mountains, rivers, and the warm-hearted people of Ao Luek Paradise, Arthur felt an instant connection. It wasn’t long before this passion turned into something delicious.
Arthur works in Europe making pizzas from a food truck and local shop together with his friend. Cooking is his life. He has a natural curiosity for flavours, and his greatest joy is sharing new ideas through food—especially fusion pizza that brings cultures together on one crust.
During his travels in Thailand, Arthur fell in love with one particular Thai dish: ผัดกระเพรา (Pad Kaprao).
Pad Kaprao is a classic Thai stir-fry made with holy basil, garlic, chili, and usually chicken, pork, or beef. It’s spicy, aromatic, and comforting—one of the most loved dishes in Thailand. Arthur admired its bold flavour, the kick of the chili, and the fragrance of the basil. Naturally, he asked himself: What if this could become a pizza?
And so, Pizza Kaprao was born.
What began as an experiment quickly became a hit. Thai locals were surprised at first, but one bite changed everything. Arthur’s Kaprao Pizza captured the true essence of Thailand while still staying true to the soul of Italian-style pizza. He blended the crispy crust with holy basil, garlic, chili, and savoury meat—creating a flavour that feels both brand new and deeply familiar.
Arthur visits Thailand one or two times a year, and every time he returns, Ao Luek welcomes him like family. His kindness, easygoing attitude, and creativity bring joy to everyone around him. And when he goes back to Europe, he brings Thailand with him—literally. His signature Kaprao Pizza is now sold in Europe, making Thai flavours travel far beyond borders.
